The manipulation of clay plays to the strengths of visual-spatial thinkers and is an effective tool for hands-on learning. It’s used throughout the Davis Programs in a variety of ways, in particular to help bring meaning to symbols, words and concepts. Clay enables individuals to create meaning for themselves, allowing true mastery of previously confusing abstract ideas. It also helps build fine motor skills.
